SMART Intensive Course

It is the right way to learn the Italian language and get the best from your time.

The new SMART Intensive Course of Italian Language in ILI is efficient, rapid, essential and compact.

It is optimal to enhance your time. You are at the center spot of learning, we can provide the solution to your needs and your goals.

Our didactic approach is focused and specific; experience immediacy and cultural sharing in order to succeed and reach your goal.

You can follow our new SMART Intensive Course both online or in class as you prefer.

The participants that follow the course online are connected LIVE: the teacher, as always, is there to help and teach you any time! It is easy to connect with the teacher and the classmates via Zoom!

The SMART Intensive Course is recognized or declared suitable for studying abroad and training leave (Bildungsurlaub, Bildungsfreistellung) from Länder in Germany.

Depending on your initial level, the course offers the possibility to reach all levels of linguistic competence within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2.

Who is it for?

 The course is designed for adults of all ages, all backgrounds and all levels who wish to learn the Italian language, as well being directed towards companies wanting to train their collaborators in the Italian language.

For those who want to make the most of their time.

Frequency

The course is divided into 4-week modules, however it is possible to customise the frequency over more weeks or on a yearly basis for those who need a long-term programme (for example, for a study visa).

Timetables

Morning: Monday to Friday 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (50-minute lessons).

Each lesson lasts 50 minutes. For classes of less than 7 students, a reduction in hours may be applied.

Classes

The ILI School pays particular attention to the quality of teaching and the specificity of each individual student, hence our classes have a limited number of participants.

The course provides lessons that are tailored to the actual level of the group, with differentiated teaching and attention to individual needs, having the aim of enhancing the competency of each and every student.

Cost

1 week: CHF 380.-

2 weeks: CHF 660.-

3 weeks: CHF 900.-

4 weeks: CHF 1’090.-

 

+ fr. 90.- enrollment fee for new students only

Educational Programme

The teaching methodologies used in the courses are specific to the communicative/situational approaches and allow for the improvement of all language skills through techniques for the development of linguistic processes.

The intensive course programme includes situational, cultural and recreational lessons that take place in real contexts (for example, during a visit to an exhibition, taking part in a treasure hunt, and so on).

Learning the language is promoted by developing the student’s autonomy, with the programme including situational activities that aim to apply the language skills in ‘real life’ contexts, transmitted through interacts with people, stores, offices and other institutions outside the school.

Admittance Test

To enrol in the ILI Courses, the student will have to complete an entrance test that allows the ILI School to evaluate the initial level of the individual in relation to the prerequisites required to attend the course. The entrance test is compulsory for all persons enrolled.

The entrance test is divided into two parts:

a) First written component

The written test allows for a verification of:

  • the level of written comprehension (which may not correspond to the level of knowledge of grammatical structures, or to the competency in writing);
  • the level of knowledge of grammatical structures;
  • the skill level in written production.

b) Second oral component

The interview, which takes place after the written test, aims at a global evaluation of the candidate.

Determined throughout the interview is:

  • the data resulting from the written test;
  • an evaluation of oral comprehension and production;
  • a verification of the applicant’s current understanding of language skills;
  • a determination of the candidate’s objectives.

At this point, we will recommend the training course that is best suited to the candidate’s knowledge and needs by directing them towards a module that takes into account:
1) of the linguistic level A, B, C;
2) of the level of competence in the different language skills;
3) of the needs expressed.

    Mein Name ist Mirjam. Ich komme von Winterthur, aus der Schweiz. Ich verbrachte zwei Wochen Ferien in Lugano, in der Ferienwohnung meiner Eltern. Mit der ILI Sprachschule (Intensivkurs am Morgen) habe ich eine gute Erfahrung gemacht. Ich denke, ich konnte mein Italienisch verbessern. Auch waren die beiden Lehrerinnen, die ich hatte sowie die Leute im Sekretariat sehr nett. Il mio nome è Mirjam. Vengo da Winterthur, in Svizzera. Sono stata a Lugano per due settimane di vacanza, nella casa di vacanza dei miei genitori. Con la scuola di lingua ILI (corsi intensivi della mattina), ho fatto una buona esperienza. Penso di aver potuto migliorare il mio italiano. Inoltre le due insegnanti che ho avuto e il personale della segreteria erano molto gentili.

    I arrived here 4 months ago in the beautiful city of Lugano with very little Italian and a huge mission to learn as quickly as possible for work. With the commitment and enthusiasm of the wonderful teachers at the school, it has been possible to start work as a doctor, albeit very challenging, and the guys continue to laugh at my regular mistakes but inspire me to learn and communicate in a calm and encouraging environment! What a wonderful experience with very important friendships made.
