Improve your Italian with the semi-intensive course and the online workshop

Classroom working

Depending on your initial level, the course offers the possibility to reach all levels of linguistic competence within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2.

The course is divided into two night classes. We’ve added the online platform and the Digital Skills. You will be able to interact in Italian and develop your knowledge through the online platform (available for the entire duration of the course) and, for those who so desire, with activities run by the teacher.

The platform and the Digital Skills are an opportunity to improve your vocabulary by exploiting all the potential of the web, to train your capacity in listening and the ability to decode a video or a short film and, of course, to develop writing skills.

If you are unable to attend, do not worry, as you will find everything we covered and some updates upon visiting the website when you prefer.

Admittance Test

To enrol in the ILI Courses, the student will have to complete an entrance test that allows the ILI School to evaluate the initial level of the individual in relation to the prerequisites required to attend the course. The entrance test is compulsory for all persons enrolled.

The entrance test is divided into two parts:

a) First written component

The written test allows for a verification of:

  • the level of written comprehension (which may not correspond to the level of knowledge of grammatical structures, or to the competency in writing);
  • the level of knowledge of grammatical structures;
  • the skill level in written production.

b) Second oral component

The interview, which takes place after the written test, aims at a global evaluation of the candidate.

Determined throughout the interview is:

  • the data resulting from the written test;
  • an evaluation of oral comprehension and production;
  • a verification of the applicant’s current understanding of language skills;
  • a determination of the candidate’s objectives.

At this point, we will recommend the training course that is best suited to the candidate’s knowledge and needs by directing them towards a module that takes into account:
1) of the linguistic level A, B, C;
2) of the level of competence in the different language skills;
3) of the needs expressed.

I arrived here 4 months ago in the beautiful city of Lugano with very little Italian and a huge mission to learn as quickly as possible for work. With the commitment and enthusiasm of the wonderful teachers at the school, it has been possible to start work as a doctor, albeit very challenging, and the guys continue to laugh at my regular mistakes but inspire me to learn and communicate in a calm and encouraging environment! What a wonderful experience with very important friendships made.

Mein Name ist Mirjam. Ich komme von Winterthur, aus der Schweiz. Ich verbrachte zwei Wochen Ferien in Lugano, in der Ferienwohnung meiner Eltern. Mit der ILI Sprachschule (Intensivkurs am Morgen) habe ich eine gute Erfahrung gemacht. Ich denke, ich konnte mein Italienisch verbessern. Auch waren die beiden Lehrerinnen, die ich hatte sowie die Leute im Sekretariat sehr nett. Il mio nome è Mirjam. Vengo da Winterthur, in Svizzera. Sono stata a Lugano per due settimane di vacanza, nella casa di vacanza dei miei genitori. Con la scuola di lingua ILI (corsi intensivi della mattina), ho fatto una buona esperienza. Penso di aver potuto migliorare il mio italiano. Inoltre le due insegnanti che ho avuto e il personale della segreteria erano molto gentili.
